The medical staff in this division always strives for surgery for benign diseases and malignant tumors in lungs and for benign and malignant diseases in bronchus, esophagus and thymus. This division is inclusive of all thoracic diseases of adults and children, and actually the medical staff has detected more than 1,000 cases of pneumothorax and pleural diseases in early stages by using thoracoscopes. Moreover, they have successfully performed about 400 cases of heart surgery on adults and children, and support cardiologists with the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators and with technical assists. The medical staff performs aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm repair and stent insertion, and besides, they deal with a wide range of diseases, especially systemic vascular diseases (aortic stenosis, varicose vein) and hyperhidrosis.
