This division is to perform surgical treatments for stomach cancer, colon cancer, gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, biliary tract diseases, pancreatic diseases, breast diseases, thyroid diseases and vascular diseases, along with transplantations.

Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery

Gastrointestinal surgery is to diagnose malignant and benign diseases in stomachs, duodenums and small intestines, as well as to perform surgical or adjuvant treatments for them. The principal jobs are surgery for stomach cancer, cancer chemotherapy, laparoscopic surgery (stomach cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, gastroesophageal reflux diseases, peptic ulcer), treatments for hernia and intestinal adhesion, and nutritional support.

Division of Hepato-Billiary-Pancreatic Surgery

This division is to diagnose benign and malignant diseases in livers, gallbladders, biliary tracts and pancreases, and to perform surgical or adjuvant treatments for them. For cholelithiasis and diseases in livers, biliary tracts and pancreases, minimal invasive surgery is performed. This surgery has the merits of quick recovery, mild pain and short hospitalization. In the case of cholelithiasis and gallbladder polyps that need systematic treatments, the cholelithiasis clinic treats them with a critical pathway, which minimizes postoperative complications and the hospitalization period. Ordinarily, patients can return home 2 days after surgery. Then, they may go back to work and live their daily lives 1 week later.

Division of Breast and Thyroid Surgery

This division is to diagnose and treat breast and thyroid diseases including breast cancer and thyroid cancer. To make diagnoses in less time, biopsies and cystoscopies are conducted on outpatients with standardized methods. With such efforts, this division has been in the 1st grade on treatment for breast cancer assessed by Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) every year.

Division of Colorectal Surgery

This division is to diagnose hernia and colorectal, anal and enteric diseases including colorectal cancer and rectal cancer, as well as to perform surgery for them. This division is operated with a minimal invasive endoscopic surgery center and a minimal invasive hernia center that has commonly been acknowledged as the best in these fields.
